Our largest event and primary fund raiser. Last year, the 5th annual Robby Atherton Foundation Golf Outing was attended by 200+ golfers and 400+ dinner guests. The full day event includes complementary morning golf, driving range, 18 hole 4-person scramble, games/ prizes/ raffles, lunch and dinner. During dinner, donations will be given to this year’s Robby Atherton Foundation Recipients. A heartwarming evening that followed a great day on the course. Individual golfers, personal donations, corporate sponsorships and dinner guests are all a vital part of making this day a success. Our Work
Supporting local families, charities and communities throughout Southeast Michigan
The Robby Atherton Foundation had the idea to do a special project for our community. We wanted to update the basketball courts at Mae Stecker Park in Shelby Township. Robby and his friends spent countless summer days at these courts in high school.
Construction started the first week of May 2012 and in two weeks, one and a half concrete courts with old metal rims, had turned into two, new, full-sized courts. The courts were updated with sport court tiles, new glass backboards, lights for playing at dusk, and a beautiful blue and white color design. The Robby Atherton Courts were dedicated on May 12th.
Financing for the project was exclusively from personal family donations over the years. We look forward to watching these two beautiful basketball courts bring excitement and entertainment to youth of Shelby Township and Robby’s name living on, tied to his love of his community, sports, and children.
See below for news articles on the courts and pictures of the amazing transformation.
